Airline Guitars Serial Numbers
If you’re looking for a great vintage resonator guitar, why not go for the original: a vintage National guitar. National was created by John Dopyera, the inventor of the resonator guitar, and George Beauchamp, one of the top steel guitar players. They produced their first resonators in 1927. National existed as its own company until 1932, when it was purchased by Dopyera’s new company, Dobro. The two were merged into the National Dobro Company. However, the National name was later used on resonators manufactured in California.
These National Reso-Phonic Guitars, as they are called, are still produced today. However, while they are similar to classic Nationals, they aren’t exactly vintage. If you want a vintage National Guitar, be prepared to pay for it.
One of the early Duolian Nationals is currently priced at $3,795. Many other early model Nationals are going to be priced similarly, especially those created in 1927, the year Dopyera was still with the company (he formed Dobro in 1928). Any National instrument made before 1932 is most likely going to be priced at over $3,000.

This is an early model 1st year production with a solid wood body. The later models were the Res-o-Glas.
Airline guitars were sold through the Montgomery Wards catalog. Valco of Chicago was the builders of Airline, National and Supro. They also built many other guitars and amps for other manufacturers.

The large pickup is actually a single coil NOT a humbucker. A very unique tone that has a great growly, punchy sort of sound. Awesome 'Trashy' 1960's vibe. I took this home and did some home recording with this through a Supro (Valco) amp and just really liked the tone. Here's the story. I purchased this guitar from a 90 year old woman, that bought this brand new for her son in 1959.
This was a Christmas gift. The son quickly lost interest in playing the guitar. It never was used. Into the closet it went.
This guitar has been sitting in the closet for over 54 years. There is really no playing wear on this guitar. The neck and fretboard are in pristine condition. There are some scratches and minor dings but nothing really objectionable. Unfortunately there was not case. Marathi Font Download For Android Mobile here.
The guitar was just wrapped up in a towel and just placed in a closet. Lost in a time warp! These don't come along very often. This is your chance to get an American Vintage guitar for a great price. The beauty of purchasing guitars like this, is that you will never lose any money.
